Sessions with the lucky few | down syndrome awareness

I created Sessions with the Lucky Few

with the purpose of honoring and bringing awareness to families who have children with Down Syndrome. Too often, DS is seen as a burden, a life more challenging than fulfilling. Doctors make the diagnosis something to be feared, not realizing the pure goodness that can come from such a unique person. When you become the parent of a child with Down Syndrome, you find yourself in a world full of blessings and joy, even amidst the challenges.

These sessions exist with the hope of spreading that joy, as well as hope.

About the session

  • Our time together is anywhere from 2-4 hours, depending on what parts of your family’s life you’d like captured.

  • I create both photographs (see the gallery below) and a short film, all in documentary style — there is no posing at all. Though, if you’d like a posed portrait of your family, I’m happy to set aside ten minutes to make that happen.

  • As seen in the videos above, we will also complete an interview during the session, to be used not only in sharing about your family’s life, but to bring awareness to Down Syndrome itself.

  • My goal/purpose is to capture your authentic life — good, not so good, and everything in between.

    Investment

Though I wish I could provide Sessions with the Lucky Few at no cost, doing this work is how I help provide for my family. The total investment is $400, which includes everything from start to finish. That said, many of my clients do not have $400 to spend on something like this, so I have two options:

  • Payment plan of $100/month, due the first of each month, with the initial payment received on the day of our session.

  • Donation-based funding — I set up a donation link and we post to our social media accounts. That link is open for 30 days. At the end of 30 days during which time we can complete the session and I will put everything together. The balance will need to be paid before delivery of the short film and photo gallery.
